Deakin Advancement Collection Statement

Deakin University collects and uses personal information about its alumni, donors and the wider community of friends and supporters. Deakin may collect personal information directly from you or from publicly available sources.

Your personal information is used for the primary purpose of staying connected with you, providing you with services, keeping you informed about activities and opportunities that may be of interest to you, contacting you for marketing and fundraising initiatives and/or accepting and managing your philanthropic support.

For these purposes, Deakin may share your personal information with other units of the University and with service providers who are subject to contractual privacy obligations.

The contents of emails from Advancement are confidential and intended solely for the named addressee. Recipients should be aware that emails may contain links to forms with pre-populated personal information which will be visible to others, if recipients choose to forward the email.

Photographs taken during events may be used by Deakin University in University publications, promotional material, on the website and in social media. However, if attending an event, you may indicate to the photographer that you do not wish your photograph to be used in this way.
